1885 Victorian
As you see in the before image the color placement is not correct. Also a big problem is a copper colored porch roof. It is difficult to see but the original roof instead of being restored was replaced with a standing seam metal roof. A porch roof should be metal but not have the large seams. Additionally a copper roof is over the top for this and most houses. The homeowner will be having this roof painted. Another problem with new roofs especially metal roofs is that the roof overlaps the fascia board beneath it. Notice the before image. This creates a sloppy look that may or may not be able to be avoided during installation. In this case the remedy is to paint the edges of the roof to match the trim for a correct and neater appearance.

Notice the color placement in the before image. The homeowner tried to get fancy by painting the trim a dark blue accent color under the eaves and over the windows. Doing that ruined the entire look of the house making the eaves and windows appear thinner and weaker. It looks like the gutter is supporting the roof. The next image is a similar color with correct placement and shutters added. Just a little bad creativity can really ruin a house.
