1895 Queen Anne Victorian in Kansas
Unappealing paint colors in the before photo and bad color placement. Railing is actually limestone which is widely used in this location. Because of this, the sample with the light trim is best. The way the limestone hand and foot rail does not stand out but instead ties into the architecture.
Scope of Work:
- Correct hideous paint color placement.
- New historic paint colors.
1897 Shingle Style in Maryland
A Shingle Style house should have natural shingles or shingles painted in a natural or brown color. In the before photo some of the shingles were replaced as can be seen by the brighter orange looking unpainted shingles. The homeowner was considering sanding off all the paint and keeping the shingles the natural color. To do this there would have to be a preservative applied. The second photo shows this with natural unpainted shingles and a very dark trim which looks very elegant. The next image is what was chosen.
Scope of Work:
- Correct color placement.
- New Shingle Style paint colors.
1898 Craftsman Victorian
Built in 1898 this Victorian had some major renovations making the porch section that of a Craftsman Bungalow style. The homeowner did not choose these colors however.
Scope of Work:
- Correct color placement.
- New paint colors.
