Frank Shirley Architects was awarded a research grant to produce this study:

[“A Comparative Study of the Cumulative Energy Use of Historical versus Contemporary Windows” ](https://www.oldhouseguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/StudyReplacementVsHistoricWindow.pdf)

This is a new study and is now included on the OldHouseGuy webpage [The Truth About Windows ](https://www.oldhouseguy.com/windows)
where you can find additional information.
