1890 Shingle Style Victorian
This house painted white with black trim did nothing for this house. Due to its Shingle Style of architecture a dark trim and earth tones would be most correct. The large roof on this house is a prominent feature and should not be neglected. A light gray roof should be avoided for it works with few house colors. When roofs were wood shingled most were painted red. Red is a great color for a roof and I’m glad to see the color is becoming popular again. A roof should be noticed not gray and hidden.

1906 Folk Victorian in Colorado
As you can see – if not click to enlarge, this house was a mess. The prior owners had no idea what they were doing but just wanted the house to look Victorian. The color placement on this house was awful. Notice that the gable eaves don’t even match. Fortunately this house has a new owner who cares.
Scope of Work
- Correct color placement.

1908 Folk Victorian in Wisconsin
While this Folk Victorian looks great in any color combination it is important to know that it takes more than good colors to have curb appeal. Trash cans should never be visible from the street and always keep your porch neat.
