This mid-century contemporary lakeside home has the perfect bone structure for a
Craftsman makeover. (reference project 249)

Front view before makeover

The sleek gabled roof is a character defining feature of a Contemporary styled home.
Extending the roof and creating attic space creates a covered porch instead of an
open deck. The steps are brought forward to meet the deeper deck on the right. This
deck is covered with an open gable. New window casings along with Craftsman porch
features seamlessly transform this Contemporary lakeside home into a Craftsman home.

Similar changes were made to the rear of this home. The roof and attic are extended
forward but the bedroom on the right is enlarged. Window and door configuration 
is modified and porch entrance is widened to a patio with the lake in front.
