My 1910 Restoration in Freehold, NJ
updated 7/2004
Some Before & After Photos with some in-between also

Most of the earlier photos can be seen on re-runs
from the original broadcast of January 14, 2002 on
The Home & Garden Network's "RESTORE  AMERICA".
Before I purchased this house, it was neglected for almost ten years.  The porch was used as storage space and the garage had an alter for practicing Black Magic.

Ghosts?  Some strange things occured, but stopped once the house was blessed by a priest a few years later.

This Octopus Furnace was installed in 1942 to provide central heat.

Unfortunately it was converted from coal to oil in the 1950's,

however all parts were saved.
The following is a passage expressing my belief:

". . . Old buildings are not ours.  They belong, partly to those who built them, and partly to the generations of mankind who are to follow us.  The dead still have their right in them:  That which they labored for . . . we have no right to obliterate."

"What we ourselves have built, we are at liverty to throw down.  But what other men gave their strength, and wealth, and life to accomplish, their right over it does not pass away with their death . . ."

by John Ruskin 1849
